Hey there! This is Abe Alba! Pleasure to meet you!
Mexico City born and raised, I always wanted an occupation that was travel-related; first, I wanted to become an airline pilot. I find airplanes to be the most fascinating machines ever created by humankind.
I’m also passionate about learning new languages. I’m proficient in English, Brazilian Portuguese and, of course, Mexican Spanish. Currently I am learning a few more languages: Italian, Japanese, French, German and Mandarin.
The one thing I love about travel and language learning is the possibility to exchange points of view with lots of people and thus broaden my understanding of things such as existence and human nature. Besides, I’m convinced that once you’ve learned another people’s language, you cannot think of them as something less than brothers and sisters.
When it comes to finance, all I can tell you is that I heard a Mexican entrepreneur say that accounting is the language of business, and I thought: If it is a language, then I can learn it; especially since I always asked myself questions such as: Why can’t we simply print more money?, What the heck is inflation is why is it killing my savings?, How does the banking system work?. I realized I also find those matters fascinating.
One of my concerns is education. I believe that every mind is brilliant, no matter how old. I also believe that we all have something to teach, and that no one learns something so well as when they try to pass it on.
I created this site because I find it more personal, free and healthy than using regular social media.
My favorite city in Mexico is Mérida, Yucatán. My favorite book: The Elephant’s Journey by José Saramago. My favorite sport: Formula 1. My favorite car: James Bond’s Aston Martin. And my greatest journey: Yet to come.
