你好,我叫阿部!
What I actually tried to say is: “Hello, my name is Abe!”
I don’t know if I said it right. I’ve just started to learn Mandarin Chinese this June. So, it is most likely that I’m going to be making a lot of mistakes on my posts in this language.
I’ve just studied a few words and sentences that so far I’ve been unable to memorize, but I’m amazed at the logic and consistence I perceive in the language. As Mexicans, we always say that something seems like Chinese when we found it difficult to understand. So culturally, we grow up with the idea of it being very difficult, inaccessible, impossible.
Since I’m a little familiar with Hanzi, Chinese doesn’t feel inaccessible anymore, it is the pronunciation that I find most challenging.
I decided to learn because I’ve come to admire many things that China has contributed to humankind throughout history. And because I know how important it is not only for participating but also understanding global economy these days; I didn’t want to miss out, at least not as much as I do today.
This is a new journey I’m so excited to have begun! I hope to be able to communicate proficiently within the next few years.
学无止境!
